Our initiatives and volunteer opportunities

Fall Prevention Classes

SDIPP's weekly fall prevention and tai chi classes at local retirement homes are our longest standing volunteer opportunity. Each session includes a warm up, workout, and cool down designed to accommodate the various mobility and activity levels of the seniors.

Our classes highlight the importance of movement to prevent injuries while facilitating connection between generations. Volunteers get the chance to hone their communication, teaching, and professionalism skills while forming meaningful relationships with seniors.
